DESCRIPTION AND GOALS OF THE COURSE The 2nd edition of the Leading Edge Summer Course is co-organized by Dr. Dominique PATUREAU (INRA) and Dr. Jean-Marc CHOUBERT (Irstea). This short, intensive and highly specialized course is focused on priority and emerging micropollutants in wastewater (including sludge) and wastes systems (including biowastes, green wastes, manures…). Aspects related to policies, sources, occurrence and fate in water and wastes, treatment technologies (process, microbiology) and ecotoxicological impact of micropollutants will be tackled. Students will be able to (i) identify the bottlenecks in the micropollutant management and where future researches are needed and (ii) propose emerging technological solutions knowing advantage/disadvantage and select the best option according to their own context. The previous edition was organized in 2016 in Narbonne. It was a very successfull 1st edition with 20 students coming from 11 countries. The overall evaluation of the course was very good, in particular the highly specialized course with very good lectures, the range of topics covered, the interactions with senior scientists and other students (group exercises) ...

Schedule PRACTICAL INFO The course will be in English. It is oriented to PhD students who wants achieve a higher degree of specialization in this field, but also to other students or professionals specifically interested in these topics and with a limited amount of time. This will be confirmed by a certificate of participation, but it will not have ECTS equivalents. Fees: There is NO registration fee for the course. Lunch is offered, but diner is at your own charge.
